Please use the following documents as you see fit. This event is meant to be easy and fun! Getting involved is really quite simple:
2005 Events Instructions
Rent a Santa suit. Also, if desired, wear snorkels, fin, mask, inner tube.... Ask your friends to join in on the fun as elves or Mrs. Claus to help make a bigger appearance, talk with folks, and hand out materials. Select a high (preferably pedestrian) traffic area/commercial shopping district where you can effectively talk with people about global warming. Make a clever, poignant and 'jolly' sign to hold (e.g 'SANTA'S HOME IS MELTING- STOP GLOBAL WARMING') If you have a catchy slogan idea, please email it to us. Print out this flyer to hand out to passerbys on simple actions they can take to make a difference. (PDF document) Prepare succinct and appropriate things to say to passersby and those interested, as well as prepare what you may wish to talk about regarding global warming to those who wish to discuss the issue, like the press! Contact your local media outlets - newspaper, radio, television etc. to get the word out further - copy the press releases below into Word documents, fill in the appropriate local information and distribute for wider coverage.
